1. Match the tractor head to the haulage job

2. Inspect mechanical condition, not only appearance
Request current evidence for engine starting and running, gearbox shifting, axle noise, braking response, air lines, fifth-wheel condition, chassis condition, tires, cabin functions and electrical equipment. Photos should identify the current vehicle, while a running video and a documented inspection help clarify what cannot be seen in a listing image.
Where a unit is intended for a demanding route, agree any additional checks before confirmation. A lower initial price can create higher downtime and repair risk if the configuration or condition is not suitable for the working environment.
3. Separate reference specifications from the current unit
Many catalog pages show a model family or a typical configuration. Treat those fields as a starting point only. Before ordering, reconfirm the exact year, mileage, engine, gearbox, drive type, tire condition, cabin condition and available documentation for the unit being offered.
If a specification is marked as requiring confirmation, do not use it as a purchase assumption. Ask the seller to replace the placeholder with current-unit evidence or remove that item from the comparison.
4. Confirm the delivery scope and loading plan
Document any agreed cleaning, repainting, servicing, tire work or parts replacement. Then confirm the loading method, port, shipping route, commercial documents and the destination-side requirements supplied by the buyer or importer.
A final photo and video review before loading provides a useful checkpoint against the agreed inspection and refurbishment scope.
